Many of us spend our lives just skimming the surface. We skim over relationships, we skim over heartaches and we skim over our emotional and spiritual needs. Our pool may look deep, but in reality it's shallow and easily dries up when faced with challenges in life. It is in places of quietness and contemplation that our pool deepens...where we come face to face with who we really are and who we want to become. It is in those times of reflection that we build the strength required to influence with character and integrity. I invite you to live differently for a short time in my Zen Cabin. The differences may be realized simply in the silence or in fact, through the hearing of a new sound. You will be surprised and comforted by the restorative influence of simple tasks like tending a fire or splitting wood. In this space you may also discover a personal restorative practice that you will desire to build into your everyday life. You just never know what might happen when you enter into a zen-like space. This Rustic Cabin is for those looking for something different. This experience is best likened to a camping experience...but with the comfort of a cabin and bedding provided. Be prepared to walk 600 ft with your luggage back to the breathtaking site. A wagon is provided to assist you. Splitting wood, climbing a ladder up into the loft, being able to manoeuvre down a fairly steep set of stairs to the river, using an outhouse, and having the ability to carry your own boat or canoe down to the water's edge is ideal for the person(s) seeking this rustic experience. There is no wi-fi nor hydro, but rather battery-powered lamps and candles, a propane fireplace, and alkaline water jugs with a pump to wash your hands and brush your teeth, thus making this experience unique. (If you are desperate for electricity, there is an inverter on site that will allow you to charge your phone and use essential devices such as your laptop, small hair dryer, or tea kettle...but shhhhh! Don't tell anyone you cheated!) This inverter must be charged daily with the solar station or the outlet up at the main house. If you absolutely need to access Wi-Fi for an urgent issue, it is available once on the back deck of the main house. This is the true experience of living simply and becoming one with nature. Consider some intentional time in this rustic zen cabin. It is a mystical experience that may take you to places you’ve never been before.
